United Way of Denton County provides support to individuals and partnering nonprofit organizations to improve the lives of those living in Denton County. UWDC helps individuals and families locate services to meet their needs. Such needs include counseling and other mental health services, housing, veteran services, healthcare, support groups, services for seniors, and volunteer opportunities.

Denton County Friends of the Family (DCFOF)
DCFOF provides an array of services for victims and survivors of domestic/intimate partner violence and sexual assault. All services for victims and survivors are free and include crisis intervention, child and adult counseling, emergency and transitional housing, legal services, education, and other advocacy services. If you feel unsafe around your partner or spouse, are being stalked, or have been sexually assaulted you may call or text their 24 Hour Crisis Line. Denton County MHMR
(DCMHMR)
Denton County MHMR is the Local Mental Health Authority for Denton County. The agency provides crisis services, mental health services, and services for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Crisis intervention services include a 24/7 hotline and walk-in clinic, the ability for professionals to travel to the individual in need to perform an assessment (Mobile Crisis Outreach Team), and continued outpatient services for individuals in crisis for up to 97 days. Other Mental Health services are available such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychiatric treatment, and skills training to help individuals function more independently.
DCMHMR also provides services to those with IDD and their families. Such services include case management/service coordination, community support and skill development, job coaching, respite for caregivers, and residential care options.
